My most recent piece; For my mixed media project, there is a lot of symbolism. The border of my work is covered in flowers, tying into the words “You grew flowers inside my lungs, and although they are beautiful, I cannot breathe.” This quote symbolizes the things I have been through with my Dad. The tree represents loneliness, the eyes representing insomnia and sadness. The sun represents life and self. The spider shows emptiness, and the snake represents transformation. I have transformed in a way, as I left an abusive household two years ago and have changed who I am. I no longer live in fear and paranoia, and I feel free. The purple flowers show healing, as they are violets. The hand shows protection, and the eyes symbolize me. I am healing as a person and things are slowly getting better. The blue flowers symbolize my brother who had cancer, as blue was his favorite color and he means the world to me. The blackness around the hand and eyes shows emptiness again, like the spider, as I feel incomplete.

In January, we took on a much larger project then most of the others. We had to create an infographic about a certain art movement. I choose Contemporary Art, as its more relatable being the art of today. Some design elements I took into account were alignment, Color, and pattern. I aligned all the squares perfectly with each other, to make it appealing and professional. For color, I kept to a strict color scheme that blends well together, including my own vector graphs which are the same colors, (Included in next slide). For pattern, again I used symmetrical boxes and colors that all look somewhat the same, creating a pattern with one another. Lots of line work was also included, as all lines of boxes are horizontal, and different shapes.
