My art style is constantly changing, which I would describe as a mixed media type of art. Something that heavily influences my art are my emotions and environment. Depending on how I'm feeling or where I am can completely change my perspectives. In this project I used watercolor and graphite pencil. I went for a minimalist watercolor scheme, with no exact technique. I tried to make each drawing unique, corresponding to the poems. I’ve learned how difficult art can be. Having many art blocks and struggling to meet a deadline proved to be very challenging. My favorite piece of art in this project would be the violet. Violets can symbolise dreams, the whole book idea tying together, “Dreaming of a better life.” I would turn it into a series of paintings. Creating a book is very difficult under a time limit. With paintings, I could get less done but have more work put into them. It was very challenging to create drawings to match poems. I was hit with many “Art Blocks”, having trouble keeping going and staying motivated. The artwork and poems are very personal; although some don’t apply to me personally many of them do. While others I have seen people facing. I want to bring awareness to mental health, so people know it isn’t just being sad, it's so much more.
