Progression in Profession
“Painting is self discovery. Every good artist paints what he is.” - Jackson Polluck. In the Art Academy, having goals is extremely important. You have to be able to improve, and without pushing yourself you can’t get better. One of my goals for this semester is to learn how to use Prismacolors, and learn techniques for, as well as improving my skills at using, watercolor paints. To achieve these goals, I will be creating two pieces of artwork a week. This will be on Tuesday and Thursday after school. I’ll work on each piece for an hour, around 5:00PM to 6:00PM. While working, I’ll watch youtube videos to better my understanding and learn certain skills and techniques. On the days I practice, I’ll set reminders on my phone and calendar. Once done the pieces, I’ll put a date on them so I can see my work progress throughout the semester. An artist can’t get better without failed attempts at learning, or else you wouldn’t be an artist.
