After watching the documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quO_Dzm4rnk&feature=youtu.be
( RiP: A Remix Manifesto ) My initial thoughts on this documentary were that it was going to be about plagiarism, what we can and can’t use. I assumed it would be basic and boring, but we soon saw it was about many different perspectives, and ideas being shared. Something that stuck with me, is how the copyright laws will sue so easily with zero sympathy or understanding. The fact that a single mom downloaded some songs and got sued was absolutely outrageous. Honestly, I believe I am copyleft. In my opinion, things should be allowed to be shared. As long as it isn't the exact original, and it’s somehow altered it should be ok, and you shouldn’t get sued for expressing something. I think this is when the media produces any kind of product to an audience. The relationship is when the audience watches, reads, listens, or interacts with what they produced. The creators produce things for consumption. In my opinion, you should have access to many things without being sued. As long as it's slightly altered, or you give credit at the end it should be okay. With art, you should be able to create what you want freely. An example, if you are painting someone you should need their permission, since they're the one who is being painted. And if you are copying something, alter it or give credit somewhere to show who inspired you.
